We take your privacy seriously, even though we’re a tiny team that spends most of its life in airports. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we actually do with it. Nothing fancy, just straight talk.

What we collect and why
When you just read the site we don’t know who you are. Your browser might send us the usual stuff (IP address, browser type, which pages you looked at, how long you stayed) but we only see it in aggregated form through simple analytics. We use that to figure out if people actually like the new layout or if everyone bounces after five seconds.

If you sign up for the newsletter we ask for your email address and nothing else. We send updates maybe once or twice a month, sometimes less when we’re all stuck on different continents. You can unsubscribe anytime with one click, we won’t chase you.

If you write to us directly your name, email, and whatever you tell us lands in our inbox and stays there. We might copy the message into our private notes if it’s a good tip we want to research later, but we never share it with anyone outside the five-person team.

Cookies and similar stuff
The site uses a couple of tiny cookies so the page doesn’t forget your dark-mode preference and to keep the analytics running. No advertising cookies, no tracking across other sites, no selling data to anyone. If you block cookies the site still works perfectly, you just might have to click “dark mode” again next time.

Third parties we actually use
Our hosting and basic analytics are handled by reliable providers that have their own strong privacy rules. Newsletter delivery goes through a reputable email service that we chose because they don’t mess with subscriber lists. Payments (if we ever add a paid section later) will go through established processors that never let us see full card numbers. Right now there’s nothing to pay for anyway.

How we protect everything
All traffic to the site is encrypted with HTTPS. Emails and files live on password-protected services with two-factor authentication turned on everywhere. We’re small, so there aren’t armies of people who could accidentally see your data, just the same five people who write the guides.

Your rights
You can ask us at any moment what we have about you (spoiler: probably nothing beyond an email address if you subscribed). Want it deleted? Say the word and it’s gone the same day. Want to update something? Just write and we fix it. No complicated forms, no waiting weeks.

Kids
The site isn’t made for kids under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If we ever find out someone under 13 signed up for the newsletter we delete the address immediately.

Changes to this policy
If something big changes we’ll update the date at the top and mention it in the next newsletter. Small clarifications might just appear quietly because nobody reads these things word for word anyway.
